Logo & Hero Header/Banner on Home Page
One of the first two images with Blasco needs to be part of a logo. I don’t know which is better. Can text be imposed over the first, wider image? The logo should include: “Vicente Blasco Ibáñez at The University of Tulsa.” Maybe altered if something more original occurs to me or my colleagues. I’m sending the body of this email to a couple of them yet this afternoon, and I hope to have comments from them very soon..
Concerning Dr Anderson’s Uploads
Uploads and images sent via email have been collected here: (you must use your google account to view them)

Then we have the two-page VBI at TU doc.It needs work, but until someone fixes something on my computer, this will have to do, temporarily. At the moment, I can’t even remove the “Markup” column.
The next item is a video from the presentation of the library collections. Is it best placed here, or earlier, as an attention-grabber?
The next two items (Flyer and Report) have to do with the library collections’ presentation day, 27 Feb. 2025. Probably best in this slot. Does it make a difference in price if one of these two are linked? Or both? I’m not sure these fit here, but let’s take a look at them here anyway.
The four photos of the library room and the collections look good here,no?. I assume that I need to place an explanatory text under each of these.
Then, three photos of the apartment.

Summary of Dr. Cécile Fourrel de Frettes Report
Title: Report of Research at McFarlin Library
Author: Dr. Cécile Fourrel de Frettes, Assistant Professor, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord
Dates of Research: 20 February – 20 March 2025
Location: University of Tulsa, McFarlin Library
Date of Report: 28 March 2025
Dr. Fourrel de Frettes conducted a month-long research stay at the University of Tulsa’s McFarlin Library, focusing on primary and secondary materials related to Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, a major Spanish novelist known for his “social novels.” The study advanced her publication project analyzing four of his key works:
- La Catedral (1903)
- El Intruso (1904)
- La Bodega (1905)
- La Horda (1905)
She expressed gratitude to Professor Christopher Anderson for access to his rich and unique collection of rare editions and early academic works not available in France or Spain. These resources, including both historical and recent studies, were vital for her project on the literary and social dimensions of Blasco Ibáñez’s oeuvre.
Her report catalogues:
- Primary sources – numerous editions and adaptations of the four novels.
- Early biographical works – from ca. 1900 to 1978.
- Early literary studies – from 1908 to 1972.
- Secondary bibliography (post-1975) – covering scholarship up to 2018.
The research was described as “a decisive source of inspiration and information” for her forthcoming publication and for deepening understanding of early and modern academic Hispanism.

Prof Anderson Inquiry
Subject: Re: Today’s gathering, etc.
Last night it occurred to me that we did an international conference on Blasco in Nov. 2014, including a red carpet debut of an excellent docudrama.
Would this help sell TU? Also, I was the principal organizer of a symposium in Valencia in 2013.
that is probably not advisable, since it was a “me” thing and not a TU thing.
Note-Responded saying the these would be great to include
